Addressing Common IRS Notices and Issues

During this 2 hour CE session, we’ll discuss resolving various tax problems that arise in the course of running a 1040 practice. Some of these issues come to our attention through IRS notices and sometimes these issues are brought to our attention by the taxpayer. This session will aim to help the practitioner know how to effectively and efficiently resolve some of these issues on behalf of taxpayers, preserving the resources of both the IRS and the practitioner.

• Participants will be able to identify common IRS notices, and what options are available to resolve the underlying issue that prompted the notice.
• Participants will become aware of various features provided by IRS E-Services.
• Provide examples of common tax problems and how they can be resolved with Automated Under Reporter, Accounts Management, and the Automated Collections System.
